I recently switched to the RX 6750XT from a GTX 1080 and observed full CPU utilization during games, suggesting a CPU limitation. Upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X might eliminate that issue? I understand the 5800X offers better performance but it’s significantly more expensive—double the cost of the 5700X. Currently, I’ve purchased a new GPU, so my budget is tight. A few notes: I’m using a B450 board, paired with a beQuiet Dark Rock 4 cooler and a 750W Seasonic power supply. Thanks in advance!

However, bottlenecks will definitely occur. This setup is quite sensible; just increase the detail level for improved visuals.

The upgrade from Zen 2 to Zen 3 is definitely worth considering—it'll really catch your attention. I think it's a good move.

Yeah... I think so. But! Which game? My 3600 didn’t slow down my 3070, which runs faster than your 6750xt. The point is, are you really trying to squeeze more performance out, or is there something else going on? In short, a new CPU might help, but it’s risky—we don’t really know much about game settings, resolutions, background processes, or anything like that. It’s basically a gamble.

Yeah that's my bad,I don't play a lot of games, I've noticed this On battlefield 2042 mostly, I play on 1080p@144Hz, on battlefield the CPU usage is at max on low, medium settings with frequent fps drops, drops down a bit on high/ultra As for background processes, I usually have steam, discord, fan control and the standard windows services (windows 11 pro)

It's possible some games will demand more CPU power, so I'll verify with MSI Afterburner overlay to see how each core performs. My experience suggests they often claim "100%" usage, but it's worth checking. If consistently one core hits 100%, a faster CPU could help, though it's not a certainty. The 5800X3D works better, but its single-core performance isn't outstanding—maybe a 5700X would be more suitable here, though still uncertain.

The problem lies with MSI Afterburner not appearing in Bf2042, yet showing up via Task Manager. It seems all cores might be at full capacity.
