I'm looking for advice on your PC setup. The CPU temperature often reaches 85°C or higher, and you're using fans near full speed. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Your specs include an MSI Z590, Intel i9 10900K, RTX 3070, NZXT Kraken Z73, 360mm RAM, Corsair Vengeance 32GB, and a Lian Li O11 Racer case with daisy-chained SL fans.

85C is performing adequately but staying within safe ranges. General conditions are suitable for temperatures between 93-95C. The fan setup should work well since heat tends to rise. Adding one or two units at the back wouldn't be harmful if space permits. Updated July 20, 2022 by An0maly_76 Added more details

You're wondering if the fan speed is too high for maximum performance and you're aiming for a steady 75°C average.

The processor is designed to handle up to 100°C at the die temperature. A lower rating is preferable, though 85°C is generally fine unless you notice overheating during idle. Note: cooling fan speed and case airflow also play a role. Updated July 20, 2022 by An0maly_76 Added more details

If you're really worried about temperatures and fan noise, you might consider undervolting to lower heat output. I know motherboards often supply more voltage than necessary just to be safe. While some CPUs do require extra voltage, it varies by chip and situation. This is likely where I’d begin.

I found several cases showing users lowering their CPU temperatures noticeably using an underclock for the 10900k.
