Take the Intel XTU board and execute a stress test. This will confirm whether your CPU is genuinely operating at 1.2GHz and identify any thermal-related lockups.

Thanks a lot. Your laptop seemed to think you were always running on low battery, and the power settings were stuck at maximum 100%.
