I ran a test on my new laptop and it showed the CPU performance was very low, almost at the bottom of the rankings. I’m using a MSI PULSE 15 B13VGK. The memory stats also came up as poor, below the second percentile. It’s possible there’s an issue with the hardware or a problem with the testing software. Since I’m not very tech-savvy, this might not be ideal for my needs.

It might also be accurate that laptop makers aren't transparent about the power restrictions for their CPUs. This means you could find two devices with identical processors, but one performs significantly slower than the other.

It might be the problem too—look at your power settings in BIOS.

This tool is designed solely to contrast extremely outdated graphics cards with modern ones, because matching a GTX 750ti and RTX 4090 on the same graph isn't possible. The RTX 4090 performs exceptionally well; for other tasks it's not useful. For general use, run a Cinebench R23 test and compare your results. Aim for around 12k on your CPU. If you have any extra software installed, consider removing it to improve performance.

Your bios didn’t show a power option or much control, it’s the MSI Click bios.

Key factors to keep in mind: Many recent laptops offer hotkeys or software that manage fan settings. When testing performance, a quiet operation usually indicates the device is in a 'quiet' state, which may cap the TDP to maintain silence. It’s best to switch to high-performance mode when connected to a power outlet. Some gaming laptops share power between CPU and GPU, so the CPU doesn’t need to run at maximum wattage for most games. MSI is known for unusual power management, requiring me to manually enable 'high performance mode' in the Nvidia Control panel to ensure the GPU runs smoothly. Generally, ensuring proper airflow matters less since laptop CPUs tend to overheat quickly, though it’s still important.
