I improved my CPU recently to a 3600 from a 3200G. I only have a 1050 mini with 2GB of RAM. For my main game Valorant, both parts are running at under 40% usage most of the time, and I’m only getting around 150+ FPS. I have two sticks of 2666MHz 8GB RAM and an MSI A320M-A Pro mobile. Would the motherboard affect performance? Should I upgrade to high-frequency RAM or a B450 mobile (Steel Legend)? Thanks.

It depends on whether the RAM speed is limited by your RAM capacity and if the VRM power isn't sufficient for the CPU. With high-speed memory installed on your motherboard, performance could improve significantly. However, if the A320 board caps at 2666 MHz, consider upgrading to a B450 board for better results.

This setup works at 120hz or below. The issue could stem from slow RAM, as 2666mhz isn't ideal for a 3600Hz clock speed.

Worried about the components being used less than before, which could affect my performance.

It seems you're comparing your setup to Valorant's specifications. The board supports 3200Mhz (OC) RAM as stated on the site.

The B450m Steel Legend fits your budget. A 3600MHz RAM would work with it.
