Yes, you should get quicker RAM. It's not something to debate much. I don't have the exact loss in speed, but with the 5950X already installed, any further drop would be too much.

Beyond C14 performance requires high-temperature operation, but flat 16s can handle it at 2K+ speeds.

Just a quick thought... 5950x plus 32gb on a micron E-die in my rig is running at 3800 @ 16-20-16. The main boost comes from the clock speed, around 1900. A bit of PBO helps keep things under 70°C with a 3080ti, and I’m really satisfied with this setup. Of course, I could go further, but why not take advantage of a calm system that has plenty of power for all my needs?

In reality, you probably won't notice much change. You might catch a few moments here and there, but it won't be a game-breaking issue. The performance will remain solid, though not outstanding.
