Your PCIe X16 3.0 lane is now an X1 3.0 lane.
I pushed my CPU beyond safe limits once and the system crashed, then reset the CMOS and it worked again. After that incident, I noticed performance drops in games, especially in town areas of RDR2 where frame rates dropped significantly. Over time, I realized my X16 PCIe 3.0 lane was behaving like a slower X1 lane, which explained the lagging. The next fastest slot on my motherboard is a 4x PCIe 3.0 lane and it functions properly with my 3060, though it runs about 2% slower. Recently, I tried using the lane again—plugging in the GPU made things worse, and I couldn’t boot the PC. I connected the display port to the motherboard for integrated graphics while the GPU was still in the X16 slot. In BIOS, it showed nothing was inserted into the X16 lane. This might be related to the overclocking incident, possibly damaging something.
Could the BIOS have become damaged beyond repair, making a reset ineffective? Refresh might resolve the problems. If not, I’d reach out to support for a replacement.
