It's interesting to note that your FPS exceeded 255—sometimes reaching around 1,000. I've also heard about an older Sims title where this happened, causing severe lag due to the high frame rate.

Fundamentals are limited, but your options are still possible. Using vanilla Minecraft with basic redstone setups or many characters can work smoothly on a 3rd generation mobile i5, though it may cause problems on a Haswell-E processor.
