Hey there, I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my PC. Lately it keeps resetting randomly, especially over the past week or so. At first it seemed like a one-off, but then it started happening multiple times daily. I checked the hardware—firmware and drivers—and thought maybe a software glitch was involved. My keyboard and mouse were also acting strange; specifically, the C key, the number key, and Caps Lock would get stuck and keep firing off repeatedly until I pressed another key to stop it. Eventually, I tried removing the firmware and unplugging components one by one, but nothing fixed it. I even reset Windows completely, hoping that would help, but it didn’t.

I also noticed my case was getting power on and off unexpectedly, which made me think of static or a short circuit. I’ve been testing different cables, power sources, and even swapping parts like the PSU, memory, cooler, and GPU. Still nothing worked.

I’m starting to feel really frustrated. I’ve tried everything from resetting BIOS settings to changing outlets, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. I’m hoping someone can give me a better idea or solution. Please let me know if you have any tips!

Initially I assumed it was your power supply unit, but you explained you replaced parts gradually, even the PSU, so using only a verified working PSU with yours suggests it still functions. I understand now that the keyboard and mouse have likely stayed the same throughout this process. It seems the main next step would be testing a different CPU if you decide to proceed. You might also consider changing the case—though touching it could power on or shut down your PC, possibly causing issues. If you have another machine nearby, try swapping components one by one to identify the faulty part. For clarity, breaking this into shorter sections or adding headings would improve readability. I appreciate your patience and the detailed feedback!

Thank you for your message. Here’s a revised version of your text:

The response was helpful in understanding what happened. I tried using a new keyboard and mouse, and everything worked smoothly. After installing Windows, I downloaded my usual files, which ran perfectly. However, when I installed World of Warcraft, the keyboard started locking the same keys repeatedly, and the mouse failed to open folders on click. I became frustrated and removed the game to check if it was the cause. After restarting, the keyboard and mouse issues persisted. It seems launching WoW might have triggered the problem. I’m still unsure what’s going on.

Check if your keyboard and mouse are connected to the motherboard. Try connecting them to the USB ports on the case. This helps quickly determine if the issue is related to the CPU or motherboard. It seems like there might be a risk of bypassing current protection.

It seems like everything looks better now. Just to confirm, reinstall Windows fresh? After restarting, check if anything remains unresolved. If nothing happens, it might be a WoW issue, but diagnosing this is tough. You could try reinstalling again two more times and then install WoW afterward to see if the problem returns.
