Yeah... I ran a defrag. Still nothing much improved. Also used CCleaner to clean temp files, restore points, and other stuff.
No relation to the problem, it's just very unbalanced. However, you mentioned it came from a G3258 and went to a 970, so everything is fine.
That’s a bit disappointing, isn’t it? If it’s the standard model, you might want to focus on other improvements. Running hot can happen even at normal speeds, and an SSD can make things run smoother for loading, starting, and quick data access.
Alright then. I'll bring it back to normal performance until I have a liquid cooler. And yes, this is the standard cooler.
It's quite demanding for rendering tasks, yet it shouldn't impact performance during regular use. The slowdown likely stems from using a solid-state drive, as opening files usually takes only a few seconds. Regardless of processor speed—whether Pentium or i7—the hard drive will limit your PC's responsiveness.
This Core i7-4770K is brand new, and since I keep it at stock temperatures, I'm using it at standard speeds (4 GHz). During rendering, it reaches its maximum temperature of 80°C. I have demanding projects that require intense rendering, lasting about 6 to 8 hours. Will it cope with those conditions at 80°C for that duration? Or would upgrading to a liquid cooler like the Corsair H100i GTX be beneficial?
