Enable Desktop Capture and observe the improvement. Also review the file size settings for the drive you're using, ensuring it's accurate.
Desktop capture is already active. The NVIDIA reported file size differs from the actual video captured.
It mainly depends on experimenting with new configurations, adjusting bitrates and resolutions until it functions properly. You could also test OBS or other tools to check if they encounter similar problems. Bitrates often behave unpredictably in shadowplay, causing distortion for a while now.
Sure, I'm confident that if it doesn't require it, lowering the bitrate helps. 80 is quite high; I adjusted mine to 50 and it records between 45-50, but with older games it tends to be lower... so I'm not sure why more was needed initially. Not really—VBR works well. It's just using a smart method. I'm not saying problems can't occur, but usually it functions fine over the years. If you encounter strange issues, try DDU—it can happen sometimes.
because its vbr = variable bitrate, there is no issue and no reason that wouldn't be a good thing imo. you can use obs for constant bitrate, but why would you, thats not really recommended. i think nvidia is way more convenient and the results are the same as obs, obs has just more options - if you need them
