You're correct. The main distinction is that the CPU fan is directing air in the opposite way, allowing it to enter the left exhaust directly. Thanks for pointing that out—I was mistaken about the fan's role as an intake.

It’s likely I’m being too direct. When it comes to fans, air tends to flow toward the sides with supports.

It seems like this might be related to the exhaust system. Adjusting the direction of the CPU cooler fan could help balance airflow with the exhaust fan. Adding another fan on the opposite side might improve circulation.

Ideally yes, but in this SFF scenario the PSU is positioned so flipping it changes how it interacts with the fan. I believe the safest approach is to reverse the rear fans and keep the current coller setup. For the case fans, run the back one normally and slow the top slightly. You might also want to use a dust mesh if that’s a concern.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the 13900 on air cooling? I expected that kind of performance, but my 13700 KF system still throttles during intensive tests. This setup is significantly larger than the previous one.

13900F delivers a bit less power surge, which slightly reduces the top performance range and generates less heat. It remains a hot CPU but is more practical than the 13900K—while at its peak it might drop around 35 watts compared to the K’s higher output. That means a gaming rig using roughly 60-70W on the 7800X3D would see a noticeable decrease, still manageable but cooler overall. Long-term boosting will also be limited by over 200W savings, resulting in better cooling efficiency.

It seems the issue is that most of the power is being concentrated in a small number of cores, causing them to overheat. There isn’t an obvious fix without changing how the turbo operates directly.
