It confirms compatibility with Vermeer CPU models from the 5000 series. Ensure you have the most recent BIOS installed prior to installing the CPU.

I hope MB can sync online like routers. I bought mine on Amazon on January 20, 2020—will it have the update that fixes 5xx errors?

Zen 3 support requires at least AGESA 1.0.0.8. B450 boards required a beta BIOS for Zen 3 support, which is why the latest stable is 1.0.0.6. There's a beta available for your board, though, that should include Zen 3 support, even though it isn't specifically called out, because it's AGESA 1.2.0.2. Whether you should actually installed a beta BIOS, though, is an entirely separate question. Given that it doesn't have flashback, you run the risk of potential bricking it. However, the alternative here would be buying a new board, anyways, so maybe that's not such a big deal.

It's always been in beta. That was the intention. Zen 3 isn't officially supported on B450. After early feedback, some users pushed for a one-way BIOS update to enable support, but it remains experimental. Taking this route means you're handling it yourself. It's not just about profit; the B450 chipset couldn't accommodate more CPUs due to its CMOS limitations. To fit Zen 3, they had to remove support for older models, which explains the one-way approach.

Consider a 500 series board with Zen3. Many users encounter issues with 400 series models. B450 wasn't built with Zen3 in mind, just like the 300 series which were made for early Ryzen. It's always smarter to upgrade the motherboard too. Future improvements can't be fixed if older designs aren't compatible with Zen3. Manufacturers used insights from earlier MBs and CPUs to enhance the 500 series and Zen3.
