Checking the router and connected parts in the setup. It seems like only a 100Mbps port exists, and trying to push 1.0Gbps on one side while the other can't handle it will halt functionality until you switch to a compatible configuration.

I used to connect my laptop directly via LAN without the router, but it didn’t work. It stops functioning when I switch to a slower 1Gbps full-duplex connection, though it works at 100Mbps. Does your motherboard support that speed? Any solutions? I’m losing money on the 200Mbps package.

The router only features 100Mbps ports, and it seems the ISP device also uses a 100Mbps connection. You're asking whether your question is about connecting from your PC to the ISP box or through a switch. If it's the latter, which model would work best? Also note that your board fully supports gigabit speeds.

From the wall to the PC. I’m not entirely clear on what you’re asking about the switch.

From the wall to the PC refers to the ISP connection you’re using. It seems whatever is on the other end only offers 100Mbps. You’ll need a different router to achieve speeds above that. While it can handle gigabit, current boards usually have only 100Mbps ports, not the high-end options you might expect.

I would take two steps: 1 - Purchase a router that supports gigabit WAN and LAN ports 2 - Contact your ISP, landlord, etc., explaining the slow speed and request a fix.

This device doesn't handle gigabit speeds—it only works with 10/100 Mbps. To connect at gigabit, you'll need a different router. Because it only supports up to 100Mbps, you're getting half the bandwidth your ISP promised (you mentioned a 200Mbps plan). It does have an Intel GbE LAN chip that can handle 10/100/1000 Mbps, but it won't reach gigabit until you upgrade the router.
