My RAM and VRAM are accumulating rapidly, and I'm unsure of the cause. While using my PC during the day—whether playing games or streaming content—the memory usage steadily increases. I often run multiple apps, with RAM usage hovering between 12–14GB out of a total 16GB, and VRAM around 8–10GB out of 12GB, even when idle or using Chrome. I've attempted to clear the AMD cache, but it doesn't resolve the issue. The only workaround is restarting the PC, which hasn't happened before. It might be related to GPU drivers (Adrenalin 24.7.1), but older versions also caused the same problem. I noticed this when opening Wallpaper Engine, which reported insufficient video memory despite no apps running. My system specs include a Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6700 XT graphics card, 16GB Corsair RAM, Gigabyte M550 M.2 SSD, and a WD NVMe 480GB SSD.

It seems there might be some unwanted software active, possibly related to mining. You'll need to reinstall Windows. Also, consider updating the BIOS on your board. Verify the current version and note it down. Create a Windows installation media on a USB drive using the provided tool from Microsoft. Generate a killdisk on another USB and wipe all data. If you only have one USB, you can use Ventoy. Power down the PC, remove the RAM and GPU, reset the CMOS, then reinstall the RAM and GPU. After installation, visit the specified BIOS support page for your model to download the appropriate BIOS version. For newer BIOS releases, ensure you flash F17 first to update AGESA.

It seems the issue isn't just a surface-level problem. You can verify activity by checking Task Manager or running an antivirus scan. Mining typically requires both GPU and CPU usage, so if your RAM and VRAM are high yet performance isn't improving, it might indicate something else is consuming resources. The F17 BIOS version you mentioned could be useful for further diagnosis.
