OS: Windows 10
Desktop GPU: GTX1050 Ti
RAM: DDR3 4x2GB total, 8GB installed
CPU: Intel Core i5 2400
Motherboard: Intel dq67SW

My machine has 8GB RAM installed, but only 4GB is recognized. A forum suggested removing and reinserting it, but this worsened the issue by causing unexpected shutdowns every 30 minutes. Are there any solutions or should I replace it?

Reset the CMOS, secure the CPU, examine the socket for bent pins and check the CPU for damaged memory channels (inspect the side).

Which size is appropriate? For 2x4GB, verify the two drives are placed in slots 2 and 4. For 4x2GB, inspect the motherboard for bent or damaged pins.

Do you know if all four RAM modules are identical in brand, performance, and timing? *If yes,* then they’re likely the same model.

Are you using a 32-bit version of Windows? Make sure to run a memory test and check if it's available in your BIOS settings.
