Your latest laptop clears your modem each time it joins a Wi-Fi network...Need assistance!
I've just gotten my Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 Intel (16") with RTX 5070 Ti. As described, when I connect to my home Wi-Fi it causes the modem to reset and disconnect all devices. The internet goes down and the modem enters a reboot cycle until I turn off Wi-Fi on the laptop. There are no problems using an Ethernet cable. This happened after I removed the laptop from the box and began the Windows installation. I navigated through language settings, etc., and once connected, updates would fail around 3% and reset the modem, turning off other devices in the house. I tried several fixes online: reinstalling Windows, checking BIOS updates, updating drivers, deleting the Mediatek adapter and installing the latest one from Lenovo (which worked for about an hour and a half before resetting again), adjusting channel bands, changing Power Management settings to prevent power-saving shutdowns. So far, nothing resolves the issue. I'm currently using Windows 11 with a Bell Hub 3000 modem and fiber internet. The laptop in question is listed here: https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/p/laptops/l...ucto1wwca1. No other devices in the house are affected until I use my new laptop. Any suggestions?
After checking all PC settings, I’ll test the router. It might help using WPA2 instead of WPA3. Set up separate networks for 2.4GHz and 5GHz with distinct SSIDs. Turn off 160MHz channels and ensure 5GHz only uses 80MHz. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, verify if disabling Wi-Fi 6 works.
