Your laptop's processor has reached its maximum performance limit.
I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 with an i5-7300HQ processor and 16 GB RAM. The CPU starts at a base clock of 2.5 GHz, but it quickly jumps to around 3.3 GHz once the charger is connected. However, during a system stability test I downloaded AIDA 64 Extreme, it didn’t boost at all—it stayed near 2.49 GHz, even lower than the base speed. I suspected the trial version might prevent boosting, but I was wrong. Later, the CPU completely stopped increasing its frequency, regardless of the charger. After testing GTA V, my performance dropped noticeably by 5 to 7 frames per second. I’m confused about what’s happening and need guidance.
I skipped this tutorial because I saw many Indian guy guides on YouTube. Make sure your power settings are optimal. Your main processor should be fully charged and connected to a power source. Verify if silent mode was accidentally activated via the FN button. Monitor temperatures—high temps may prevent boosting. Also, note that 3.5GHz is a single-core boost; with full core usage it caps at 2.5GHz.
Verify the heat levels, then increase airflow through the vents to remove debris.
