Mainly the main topic. Both signals look good, yet the 5GHz performance is limited to about 43.3Mbps. Any thoughts on why? My Tenda AC6 router works fine with other devices, and reinstalling the driver didn’t help. My laptop (HP Omen 15, 2021) uses Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 at 160MHz. The 5GHz speed is frustratingly slow despite stable connectivity.

Do you see any barriers in the way of the router and the laptop? Greater wireless frequency means less signal through obstacles such as walls and people, which can greatly influence speed.

It might affect several factors. The two most important aspects are the testing site and the distance with the intervening walls. The laptop's WiFi card may also have a subpar 5GHz antenna.

I checked the screenshot I shared; it shows I tried this in my room with a wall. Before that, without any wall, the speed was still limited. Now I’m using the same spot and room as my laptop, and the results are solid. (Tomorrow morning I’ll share a 5GHz test on my phone, same server, urgent task tonight.) The WiFi card looks good, as mentioned in the JarrodTech video (4:33). My laptop uses the identical Wi-Fi card—Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz.

Absolutely, you can try using a Linux Live USB to check the issue without affecting your main system. It helps isolate whether the problem lies in the driver or the hardware.

I've tested USB Linux and everything works just fine. It seems the issue might be with the drivers on Windows. If that's the case, what steps can be taken to resolve it?

Apologies for the delayed response. After some time, I chose to reinstall Windows and performed various tests, including using my phone as a hotspot relay. The connection worked via 5GHz band, and I wirelessly tethered my laptop using my phone on the same frequency. My findings suggest that either the driver or the Intel AX200 in my laptop might have issues communicating with the router (Tenda AC6). This was likely due to the hotspot relay operating at full speed instead of a limited one. I tested this near the router itself, ensuring signal strength wasn’t an issue. Other than upgrading my routers or using my phone as a hotspot, I don’t see another option.

You’re experiencing slower performance on a 1Gbps link when using the 5GHz AP, but full speed when connected to your router. It seems this issue mainly affects your laptop, so you might want to stick with the 2.4GHz for now.
