Hello everyone! I own a GL-503 ROG laptop and here are the key details – GTX 1050, Intel i7 7th Gen, 16 GB RAM. I’ve had it since 2018. It runs single-player games smoothly at 40-50 FPS (like RDR2) and MOBAs/FPS at over 60 FPS. I can also handle Lumion/Vray renders, though it sometimes takes a while. Recently, my laptop has become noticeably sluggish. At full screen, frame rates drop to 10-15 FPS or less, forcing me to play in window mode for a better experience. Even rendering at 720p crashes the system completely. I’ve reformatted it twice, cleared files, updated drivers, and cleaned it up, but the issue persists. I’m concerned it might be outdated or worn out. I rely on it for daily work, and replacing it isn’t an option (it broke). Basic CAD and Revit still work, but rendering is a pain. Gaming feels less immersive in window mode. Any suggestions to restore its performance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
You might have switched to Windows 11 a few years ago, but gaming performance can be affected by that change because of a known issue. Check your system temperatures with tools like a hardware monitor or MSI Afterburner to ensure your GPU and CPU aren't overheating from dust.
You're experiencing a problem with your Desktop. It's unclear if this fix will work, but you tried enabling Secure Boot in the BIOS with Windows 11 and disabling Explorer indexing.
