Hey there. I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my home modem. I logged in to change the port forwarding settings a while ago, but it was still using the default password. I updated it to something stronger, but when I tried again a few days later, I got a wrong password. I thought maybe I'd forgotten it, so I reset the modem and re-added the ports, making sure to note the new password. When I tried logging in the next day, it still didn't work. It's been happening 6 or 7 times now, and I'm worried about security. I don't know if it's just a glitch or if someone might have accessed my system. Could you help me out? Thanks!

If it's a glitch it's possible it could be patched with a firmware update. If there's an option to I'd try that before spending money on a new one.

You can find the firmware update on your provider's official website or through their support portal. If it's a model they supply exclusively, check with them directly for availability and instructions.

You often see it listed as a menu choice to refresh the firmware via the WebUI. It will automatically retrieve the newest release.
