Your HDMI port got damaged by TV use on your laptop.
After connecting my laptop to the TV, it didn’t work. I tried using a monitor but got nothing. This issue happened before with another laptop. If the port is damaged, should I remove and reattach the HDMI cable or check if MSI offers extended warranty for repairs? I’m sure I could swap out the HDMI port myself, but I’m unsure if a faulty port affects other parts too. Also, have others experienced having their HDMI ports damaged on smart TVs? This has happened twice with different devices.
The fried HDMI port might have harmed the motherboard, but I'm not sure how common that is. It's better to check with MSI first.
Absolutely, I understood. It was what I was worried about. I just sent a ticket to MSI and will check their response. Thanks for the updates!
