Hi everyone, I'm assembling a new PC this Christmas and forgot to verify RAM compatibility before ordering from G.skill... I understand, but I've heard mixed things. For regular gaming it seems fine, though some suggest it could cause issues if not marked as QVL. I purchased the Trident Z Royal 2x16GB 4000Mhz CL 19-19-19-39 and am unsure if it will fit with my ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E Gaming AM4 MOBO and Ryzen 7 5800x. Since I already have those components, I'm worried it might not work, so I might need to return them and try different RAM. Thanks for your help! Happy holidays!

This ensures compatibility, the QVL just means the vendor confirms the RAM functions. Skip XMP for simplicity.

They don’t make sense to operate them at such high speeds since using a half-speed memory controller is necessary.

You'd need to adjust settings yourself at a suitable frequency and clock speed, avoiding XMP since it wouldn't align with your hardware.

You'd check for XMP support first. If absent, manually tweak settings to boost performance and achieve a better FLCK 1:1 balance.

Since XMP seems to cause issues, many people are reaching out for assistance after it caused problems. While I don’t guarantee it will succeed, the chances of XMP functioning properly with non-QVL RAM appear quite low.
