Your graphics card temperature is elevated.
Hello, new poster here. I'm just starting this journey with PC builds since the '90s. I tried to find a similar post but couldn't. My GPU temperature stays high—around 650°C (1200°F)—whether idle or under load. I've updated the BIOS and chipset drivers, but it still doesn't drop below that level. I also have another GPU running at about 86°F (35°C) when idle, which is normal. Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 WIFI, AMD chipset, CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RAM: Kingston Fury 16x2, cooler: Corsair Nautilus 240 ARGB, power supply: Corsair RM1000e, fans: 8 case fans (5 intake, 3 exhaust), and a second GPU: PNY GeForce RTX 4070 with Super SSD from Samsung 990 PRO. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.
3 programs are in play. Your observation is correct. MSI Afterburner, MSI Center, and NZXT Cam all provide similar information. I only have one GPU installed—the RTX 4070 Super. The other is the built-in GPU on my motherboard. I’m curious if I might have connected the wires incorrectly. I attempted a different motherboard swap, but the same problem persists. It resolved one issue I hadn’t mentioned, but the main concern remains. Appreciate your feedback. Edited February 20, 2025 by Torch04
It's becoming rare in consumer series motherboards to include onboard graphics. The issue would remain on the board since the graphics processor is now integrated into the CPU. The specifications mention Integrated Graphics or iGPU, which suggests your iGPU temperatures are likely similar to the CPU temperatures due to their close proximity. In any case, the software might be misinterpreting the sensor data. AMD seems to prefer alternative methods for reading it, but you shouldn't be concerned. All this functionality is managed beneath the CPU cooler.
