Hey there, I've noticed something odd about my PC lately. My 2070 Super is showing strong fan spikes, which is unusual and quite loud. I'm using the FanControl Github app to track GPU fan speeds, but I've realized that with three fans, only two are spinning at a time. The middle fan never turns on, and the software treats it as one unit, so even at full speed, only the outer two fans move. Right now I'm manually capping all GPU fans at 50%. Is this normal, or is there an issue with my GPU?

It looks like the middle fan stopped working. When the computer is on, turn the fan in the right direction (about 99% to the left) using your finger, and check if it continues spinning. Sometimes they just need a bit of assistance. You can find replacement fans on sites like eBay and Aliexpress, or a repair shop could fix it easily. It’s not complicated to handle yourself.

To verify the fan is functioning properly and not dead, gently take off the shroud and exchange the fan positions if your card has three identical fan sizes. Usually they are just linked together, and then the final fan attaches to the fan header on the card. If swapping those connections still doesn’t work, purchase a replacement set. They are affordable and often found second-hand where people have installed waterblocks or similar components.
