You can try reducing the Windows version to a less secure one, but this may affect stability and features.

It seems you'd benefit from adding more memory. If you're using 4GB, it's likely you're already limited to single-channel (maybe 2x2 or 1x4). Upgrading to another 4GB stick would significantly improve performance.

It's quite heavy—over 2GB used just to boot up the PC. If reducing it isn't possible, then increasing RAM might be the way forward. On the flip side, boosting memory usually improves performance significantly. With a setup of 1x4GB, adding another 4GB would enable dual-channel RAM, increasing bandwidth.

Sure, I'll consider adding another 4GB stick.

Verify your setup carefully. If your board only has two dimensions, and you're currently using a 2x2 configuration, avoid scenarios where adding a 4GB stick won't fit. Note: I looked up your board and found four dimensions. However, switching to a 2x2 and then to a 1x4 in dual channel might not function as expected in practice, even though it seems logical in theory.

I understand. I should likely receive additional RAM.

You're using a 1x4 drive, which is a standard 4GB hard drive. A single stick of 4GB should work fine for basic tasks, but keep in mind the performance might be limited compared to a larger drive.

It should work since your board has four slots. Just open Task Manager, go to Performance, then Memory, and it will show the current usage.

If you mean your buying another 4GB ram stick, it should work, just make sure that its the same speed and CAS latency (Laos make sure its DDR3, DDR4 won't work) Also make sure you have another slot available and that your actually running 1x4 atm

It's currently using 1/4 power. What's the best budget to set? I don't want to spend on low-quality items that fail later. Should I add another 8 for a total of 12, or do you think 8 is sufficient for this setup?
