Hello, I'm looking to purchase a VR headset from Oculus for my PC. I have a few questions: 1) Will the Quest 2 match the visual performance and quality of the Rift S using USB-C? 2) Does the Quest 2 have higher latency compared to the Rift S? 3) Is the Quest 2 suitable for my system? My setup includes an Intel i7-10700K with 4.2GHz, HyperX 32GB RAM, and an ASUS Strix 2060 Super OC Edition GPU. I also have an ASUS Strix Z490 E-Gaming and a PSU rated at 3200MHz.
I own a Quest 2 with and without a cable. I've witnessed the Rift in action. I pick Quest 2 since it's the primary model offering more support, and it's essentially comparable to the Rift. I wouldn't pay the premium for the Rift because it's not $100 better than Quest. They're about 90% alike. The reason Quest is cheaper is that Facebook wants these devices widely available to integrate users into their ecosystem. That's why you can purchase high-end phone tech for a fraction of the cost, and Samsung encourages using their products. The same applies to Quest—they're offering the hardware at a lower price to promote their software. Quest 2 will perform just as well as the Rift.
