I’ll share the devices connected from your router to your smartphones. Router: Tp-link Archer A6 v2.0 Smartphones: Galaxy A8 (2018), Galaxy A50s, Xiaomi Redmi Note5, Galaxy Tab A with S-Pen (8", 2019), Tp-link USB WiFi Dongle 802.11n. The issue: My phones and tablet only operate at 20 MHz on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz networks. So it caps at 72 Mbps on 802.11n and 86 Mbps on 802.11ac. I think this isn’t the router’s fault, because the USB dongle supports up to 150 Mbps on 802.11n. According to the official Samsung website, both devices should support VHT80 on 802.11ac. What I’ve tried: 1. Reset the network settings on Android – instructed by a Samsung representative, I was really worried. 2. Restrict Wi-Fi to only 802.11ac on the 5GHz band and 802.11n on the 2.4GHz band. 3. Ensure it runs at 40 MHz on 2.4GHz and 80 MHz on 5GHz. Testing with “Wifi Analyzer” on Android confirmed the router uses 40 MHz and 80 MHz respectively. 4. Basically, I double-check all router configurations to make sure it’s running at optimal levels… My main suspect is Android itself. Perhaps there’s a setting I can adjust in developer mode or under Connectivities that would unlock full Wi-Fi performance. I’ve tested three phones and one tablet, all from Samsung. On 802.11ac (80 MHz), they only achieve 86 Mbps, even when downloading data. I’d appreciate it if there’s a fix so I can stream my Steam game to my phone or tablet and enjoy it while relaxing on the bed :p

I face the same issue you do. My Android devices connect at different speeds—some at 300Mbps and others at 144Mbps to my router. The models I mentioned include the Xiaomi Poco X3, Samsung S20 FE, Xiaomi Mi 10 T Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. I’ll keep waiting here while you work on a solution.
