A couple weeks ago my computer went automatically to sleep mode, as it does every day. The next day I tried turning it on, I saw the power button flashing indicating everything is okay, and it's in sleep mode, however when I went to turn it on, no response. Nothing turned on, no fans spun no LEDs or anything, I figured I'd restart, and still nothing works. Then I tried everything I could think of, I tried Reseating the RAM Disconnecting every possible cable and reconnecting Turning on with nothing other then Power RAM and CPU connnected Shorting the power pins Reseating CMOS battery Reconnecting every piece of hardware I could think of. And still nothing happened, so I figured I still had warranty on all the parts, and sent the computer as a whole to repair. They managed to turn it on (which was weird because they said they hadn't even ran into any problems turning it on) so I went to pick it up, after seeing the computer turned on there, I went home, connected it, and it worked, then it went to sleep again... Next day computer is doing the exact same thing, nothing turns on same as it was in the beggining, even though I basically did nothing on the computer, a very weird problem I had never heard of before. Please keep in mind the repair shop is a 3 hour drive away, and I really don't want to drive all that way everytime this happens. I would like to find a permanent fix. Thanks in advanced!
I can't reach the BIOS because it seems like everything is not functioning properly.
Apologies for the confusion, I didn't realize you meant to activate it from sleep.
It likely functioned at the store since it was disconnected from the wall for some time. Take out the power cord, press and keep the power button for five seconds, then let go and reconnect the power to test again. The issue may not be your plug or power bar, but rather the sleep mode setting. Update the BIOS and install the newest chipset drivers for your device.
