Hello, I just installed a new computer and after the first week, it began restarting unexpectedly. It would shut down completely and then restart within seconds. This issue mostly occurs during gameplay, but sometimes happens even when browsing the web. I became quite annoyed, so I swapped out the components with newer ones. I started with a Ryzen 7 3700X and replaced it with an Intel Core i7 9700k paired with a water cooler. The problem continued, so I changed the RAM and power supply to fresh units (same RAM and PSU, just new). Still, the issue remained. Recently, I returned my RTX 2060 with a replacement, but the problem persisted. I replaced nearly every part except the case and the HDD/SSD. Temperatures are normal regardless of activity, when it restarts it doesn’t trigger the Blue Screen of Death, no error messages appear, just a complete shutdown followed by a login screen. I disabled automatic restart via system failure, but the issue still occurred. I reset the CMOS and installed a brand new Windows 10 version, and I didn’t overclock anything. I’m aware this isn’t my outlet since it also reset at Geek Squad. I hope we can collaborate to resolve this, not just for me but for others facing the same or future issues. Thank you!

Consider a risky approach by taking off all front panel connectors and attempting to power on the PC with a flat head screwdriver to disable the power pins. Check if it restarts. If not, suspect the power or reset button may be faulty.

I also took out the power and reset switch, but it still restarts, so it doesn’t match either of those buttons.

Damnit. That tends to function. Have you attempted another Windows 10 .iso file? Or perhaps try booting from a live Linux drive and check if it succeeds. If it continues, clear all drives and install a verified backup system.

Damnit. Have you verified whether the backside of the motherboard touches the case? It’s possible there’s a small gap due to contact. Take everything out and test it inside the motherboard box—see if the issue remains. Otherwise, I don’t see any clear direction left.

It might have been pure bad fortune with a faulty Mobo. Have you checked if using identical components like CPU, RAM, and PSU on another board worked?

It was occurring even with my Ryzen 3700x, which uses a different motherboard than Intel. I changed the Ryzen card once and it continued to work, which influenced my decision to pick Intel. Later on, despite switching processors and motherboards, the issue remained, but I haven't experimented with Intel RAM or PSU on another board since then.
