I recently needed to clean up my boot drive and reinstall Windows 10, but my computer keeps acting like it’s a laptop. No matter how many times I try, it still thinks it’s a laptop. Someone can help me out.

It identifies the device as a laptop based on its operating system, hardware configuration, and typical usage patterns. This conclusion comes from analyzing the environment and capabilities associated with laptops.

I recall when using Windows 95, you could change the system to appear as a laptop. That feature hasn’t been available for more than ten years.

Assuming tablet mode is active, the system should recognize it as a tablet. Navigate to Settings > System > Tablet Mode and disable it. If not, checking the task bar for a battery indicator might suggest it's connected to a UPS.

Using an UPS treats the Windows 10 fresh installation like a laptop battery. It’s unclear whether this is the intended meaning.
