Many businesses engage in this practice, yet I think EU regulations clarify that if the manufacturer acts unreasonably, retailers must take responsibility. My worries are heightened in the UK because Brexit has shifted priorities away from consumer and worker protections.
yeah afaik, if you're in the eu and item was bought in eu, they cannot tell you to send it to China, the moon, or elsewhere, only to eu... and yes, typically it's the seller who's responsible, unless there are special warranties from the manufacturer, in which case you have a contract with them -- with a watercooler i wonder though... they could always just say "user error"... what then...? not that I'd ever put water in my pc (and that's precisely why, if something happens you're basically on your own, most likely)
