I have a Ryzen 2700x with a Dark Rock 4 from be quiet as the cooler. My motherboard is the B450 Tomahawk. I typically run at 3.9 to 4 GHz. About five days ago, while playing games, I noticed it got warmer. I checked Cinebench r20 and found it was 5 degrees hotter in a room at 23°C compared to its normal 25°C when idle and 67°C under full load. After that, temperatures rose to around 32°C idle and 73°C under heavy use. I re-applied thermal paste and cleaned the PC, but the issue persisted. In Task Manager, I saw high usage that wasn’t accounted for. If I put the PC to sleep for a day and then restarted it, the temps returned closer to normal, though they increased again after an hour of moderate use. What’s going on, and can I fix it?
The issue remains manageable. Regarding its origin, have you verified your case for any dust or recent cleaning?
