I overclocked my ryzen 5 3600 to stable 4.25 GHz. When I run stress tests like Cinebench r20, the program works fine and the temperature stays normal around 65C while testing. Playing games is also smooth. However, recently when I open HWiNFO64 and let it run in the background, something weird happens. Suddenly my overclock drops back to the default of 3.6GHz or even 4.2GHz boost. But this only starts happening when I play certain games like Cod warzone, Valorant, or AC Odyssey. As soon as one of those games launches, my overclock resets instantly and goes back down until I shut down or restart the computer. After a reboot, it goes back to 4.25 GHz again. But if I try to open those same mentioned games after restarting, the reset happens right away once more. Other games like FIFA, Sekiro, Minecraft did not reset my overclock at all. This is really strange. I haven't found any similar problems online. Please help me figure this out since other gamers have asked about it before. My computer specs are a Ryzen 5 3600 on an MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS EVGA, a RTX 2060 Ko ultra G.Skill Ripjaws V series with 16GB of RAM.
I don't like Dragon Center because it does weird things. One reason it resets my BIOS settings is probably because Dragon Center changes those settings on its own without asking me first. It sets them to values that are too high for an all-core OC, which aren't even recommended by AMD. When I reset the BIOS, it gets rid of these fake-high numbers so the CPU doesn't get way too hot. If you just remove Dragon Center from my system, everything will work much better.
