XMP is something you definitely want to keep. The Game Mode setting in Ryzen Master is usually not very helpful.
Noted, I saw it addressed before, but upgrading the CPU still left me confused—scores didn’t match expectations, and the 1 CCD wasn’t working at all. Really freaked me out!
Game Mode is required only on certain Threadripper processors. It can help early-gen Ryzen 7 models such as the 1700 or 1800X in specific titles that struggle with those older Ryzen setups. Occasionally, it might improve performance for the 2700X in a few games. Beyond the 3000 series, it’s generally unnecessary except for a handful of old games and programs that need it to function. These are uncommon situations, and most users won’t encounter them. Using Game Mode outside these scenarios will only degrade your gaming experience. It’s considered outdated for modern chips like the 3000 series or newer.
