My cousin wanted to assemble a PC and recently received the CPU, motherboard, RAM, etc. When the CPU arrived, I checked its pins to confirm they weren’t bent and discovered they were indeed bent. I’m curious if it might still function properly. Right now, I can’t test it because the motherboard hasn’t arrived yet (it’s still in transit). The CPU model is a Ryzen 5 1600X—sorry for the low photo quality my phone couldn’t focus on.
Using tweezers or a blade, and being patient, you can gently reshape them. Avoid pulling or applying pressure to the bottom where it attaches to the chip. There are many online videos showing the process. You might also take it to a repair shop if you're unsure, though a 1600x might not be worth the cost.
This appearance is completely fixable, I typically use a cutter and straighten it again.
