Your computer stops working.
Hey everyone, my computer freezes briefly for a couple of seconds then stops completely with some strange repeating sounds. No BSODs or warning messages appear. It usually happens after about four hours of gaming, and after the crash when I switch to Chrome it stops working after ten minutes. I’ve run some tests—memtest86 three times—and recently replaced my power supply with a new one. Since then, the PC hasn’t crashed for two months, but it’s started again three months ago after installing a new GPU. Back then, the system would crash instantly within two minutes of turning it on. I thought it was the GPU, so I connected the video cable to the motherboard and it stopped working. Now I believe the issue might be hardware-related. The specs look good: Core i7-4790, 3.6GHz, 16GB RAM DDR3, GTX 1060, 6GB HDD, Corsair CX550. Any suggestions?
I have downloaded the newest NVIDIA drivers and completed a DDU setup. There are no overclocked settings.
Maybe the PSU is having trouble; try testing it in another configuration and reinstall Windows 10. A friend faced the same problem and a fresh install resolved it.
I'll attempt it. What exactly was the problem you encountered?
