I own a decent gaming PC with the following components – a Ryzen 7 2700X processor, an RTX 3070 graphics card, and 24GB of RAM running at 3200Mhz. The system runs smoothly in most cases, but it still experiences lag even when the task manager shows minimal activity. I’m not sure what to do next.

I shared what I observe on HW Monitor. Occasionally, using the PC causes it to freeze entirely, including the mouse arrow functionality.
Disable DOCP and possibly PBO. You might need to adjust memory frequency and timings yourself. Obtain the complete timing table by downloading aida64. In Aida navigate to motherboard -> SPD, locate [email protected] and check the timings. Extend the window to identify which settings correspond to each timing. Before proceeding, test without DOCP and run everything in auto mode. I experienced similar problems with my 2700x; it was related to memory configuration.
Restart Windows and install fresh drivers. Exclude software issues.
Previously, the problem occurred with the blue tooth mouse batteries. If that’s not the case, internal freezes are more likely due to storage issues. It’s uncommon for the operating system to be the cause. Try booting in safe mode and checking if the issue persists.
