Your computer isn't starting up properly.
The issue has been fixed. Review my reply at the bottom for details. I upgraded my RAM and installed it, but the computer still won't boot. After removing and reinstalling the modules, it remains unresponsive. I checked all connections and cables, but nothing resolved it. I attempted to reset the CMOS and cleared the BIOS, yet the problem persists. I’m unsure if the power supply failed, though the motherboard’s RGB lights up and is only a few years old. I don’t have a separate power unit for testing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Full system specs are provided below. CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 (stock cooler), GPU: Azurix RX 580 2048 SP, Motherboard: Asus A520M Wi-Fi, RAM: original 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz + upgrade 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz, Storage: 512 GB Samsung 980 Gen 3.0 plus an old 512GB hard drive from my dad’s old PC, PSU: ES Gaming 750W (Amazon link provided). Have you attempted starting with just one stick in the first slot? It might seem strange, but I’ve faced this issue before. The only way I managed was to boot on a single stick, then once it was running I could shut it down and install the remaining RAM, after which it worked again.
Consider removing the CMOS memory? It could potentially cause it to perform more DRAM training, though I'm not sure.
I haven't come across any mention of a bad RAM stick locking a motherboard or CPU... Try starting without RAM and check for a BIOS alert. Did you perhaps leave the GPU in or crank the CPU cooler too much to dislodge it? Do you have access to your router to verify an IP assignment? If you haven't connected a phone via USB, or pressed the keyboard's caps lock/num lock to confirm a live connection, that might help. Could the monitor be plugged into the wrong motherboard slot? Even a used GPU could cause issues if swapped in. If anything seems damaged, the expensive aftermarket card is likely the worst outcome.
The issue came from some marks on the motherboard. I think I made them while putting in the RAM, but I’m not sure. Thanks for all the support!
