Who issued the warranty? If you were the seller and were aware of the damage, I wouldn't consider accepting a return.

For future use, most GPU fans stop spinning above a certain heat level, meaning they usually only run while gaming or similar tasks. It seems the computer might not show anything without a drive—likely it would still boot into BIOS. I’m not sure, but I definitely agree that this was a mistake, and we’ll learn from it. Hot plugging the GPU was another error we should avoid.
