I just assembled my own PC and tried to power it on, but nothing happened at all—not even a single fan moving. I think the PSU might be the issue, but I used a paperclip to test it and it worked. Now the PSU fans are spinning, the case fan is active, and even the heatsink fan is running. Is it the motherboard, the CPU, or the RAM that’s causing this problem? Sorry, my English isn’t great. I’m using an ECS H61H2-MV with an Intel Core i5-2500.

Only the motherboard is mentioned besides the CPU.

The core issue seems to revolve around interpreting the problem correctly and identifying the key challenge involved.

It seems the motherboard could be the issue, though it's unclear.

If you attempt to power on a motherboard with a dead CPU, it may start basic components like the heatsink fan and case fan, but not necessarily the main system functions.

It seems the motherboard might not be able to power up the dead CPU, so you’ll likely need to replace it. It’s possible the system won’t start at all.

I’ve already reached out to the seller, who said he can provide a new motherboard. If that doesn’t work, it seems the CPU might be the problem. Appreciate the help!
