Hello everyone! Here are my computer details: CPU: i7 3770K, MOBO: ASROCK Z77 Pro4, RAM: EVGA Superclocked 2x8GB, Cooler: Deepcool Gammax 400, PSU: Seasonic Focus 750W Gold, SSD: Sandisk 240GB + Samsung 860 Evo 500GB HDD, GPU: EVGA GTX 970, Cooler: deepcool matrexx 55 mesh, Monitor: HP Zendesk 27 (1920x1200), resolution.

Let me address my issue. I’m seeing much lower frame rates than expected in most games. For instance, my friend has a non-K CPU and uses a 1920x1080 monitor, while mine is connected via HDMI. He’s getting around 60 FPS in Forza 4 on High, whereas I’m around 40 on Medium. On Marvels Spider-Man at Medium settings, he hits 50 FPS, but I’m under 30 on Low. Dying Light 2 gives him ~60 on Medium while I only get ~30 on Low. I’m puzzled.

I recently cleaned Windows 10, updated all graphics drivers, but the problem persists. My HDD shows a caution state in CrystalDiskInfo. I tried running the PC without the drive connected, but it didn’t help. BIOS is up to date, thermal paste was changed for both CPU and GPU, and temperatures seem normal during games. GPUs are using ~98% of capacity, while CPU stays around 60%. RAM settings are dual channel with XMP enabled at 1600MHz.

I’m confused about why my friend achieves such good performance on the same machine. I also looked into performance comparisons on YouTube and noticed others seem to be doing better.

Is your resolution greater than his? Then expect reduced performance since the GPU must process more data.

The low-end processor's CPU constraints often depend on RAM speed and timing. Using a board with a Z-series chip and a locked processor at higher speeds like 2400MHz CL10 DDR3 versus a lower-speed setup such as 1333-1600MHz CL15 can create noticeable performance gaps, especially when the workload is CPU-intensive.

Referenced earlier, I'm testing at 1920x1200 while he's on 1920x1080. Used his screen for testing but FPS remained low.

Ram is EVGA Superclocked DDR3 series, 2x8 GB kits, CPUID shows that they are in dual channel and also I have enabled XMP profile in BIOS, mhz is also displaying as 1600. Also he has i7 3770 non k version when I have i7 3770k so i don't think CPU is the problem here, also he has some generic 1kit 16 GB ram.

With Riva Tuner active, it's possible to view the clock speeds of your CPU and GPU. There might be a power constraint that limits performance.

The thread could be closed due to a PCIE slot problem. I updated it and everything is functioning better now.
