I've read some other people talking about this too. Even though they seem to have fixed their problems, mine is still slow when apps and games are running. Honestly, it gets worse if I open too many tabs of Edge at once. The drivers have been updated already. Changing the graphics priority setting doesn't help because that won't fix the real problem anyway. Also, turning off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in BIOS didn't work either. I checked for corruption and found nothing there. My laptop model is an MSI Sword 15 with these specs: a powerful Intel processor, 16GB of RAM, an integrated graphics card (UHD), and an external NVIDIA chip called GTX 3050 Ti. Based on what I know, most laptops like this probably use something called Optimus. This means the high-performance GPU is used only when you need lots of power. Otherwise, it uses the weaker built-in chip instead. Since my laptop is mostly using that weak chip while I'm doing normal stuff, it takes a lot of time to get things done. It can even jump around between 20% and 100% usage depending on what's happening. This makes gaming feel slow too. Sometimes the games run smoothly with high frame rates, but then suddenly drop to less than 30 FPS in random bursts. These drops always happen when the weak chip is busy (I'm guessing this is Task Manager data). Basically, I mean that just telling Windows which app should use the strong GPU doesn't work because if the weak chip gets too busy, it slows everything back down anyway. Who knew that would be a bad idea? Anyone else have other tips to help me out of this mess? Just wondering why managing my computer's window system (called DWM) is so slow at using the graphics card. Even though my graphics are new and modern, they're still struggling with an old Windows UI that just fades everything out while doing nothing but show task bars and windows disappearing. It feels like I'm running on a very, very old graphics chip compared to everyone else's modern ones for kids like me.

If you want to turn off Nvidia's Optimus: How can I stop the laptop from switching between a discrete card and an integrated one so only the strong video card runs on this HP OMEN 15-en1025 model? I need help because I cannot use two screens at once. Is there another way to connect my graphics that isn't working right now? What kind of system usage does Task Manager show me when I check Resource Monitor? Also, what is the BIOS version on this HP laptop made with AMD Ryzen 5 5600h and a GTX 3060 card (model H30434)?

I run a game that is expected to be very slow because of my integrated graphics card. The CPU is only using under 20% while RAM is at 63%. Sometimes the hard drive usage goes up and down, but that's normal. Every time I close the tab, the GPU hits 100% right away before coming back down when I reopen it. When I bring the tab back open, the frame rate looks choppy even though the graphics card shows 100%. The Radeon RX 585 (the 3050 Ti) is getting used but never above 50%. My BIOS version is American Megatrends International, LLC E1582IMS.30F from October 15th, 2021. Do I think I need to update the BIOS first before you tell me more?
