just three days ago my computer shut down on its own. I tried restarting but it would briefly power on before cutting off again. After unplugging the GPU, it worked temporarily, but without it no output appeared. I replaced the GPU with a new one, and the power supply came on properly, though the screen remained dark. Now I’m considering upgrading to a new motherboard and CPU, or maybe buying a new motherboard and CPU myself. I’m worried those might not work as well. My current setup had an 8GB RX 580 GPU, an AMD Ryzen 5 2600, a B450 Pro ASRock motherboard, 48GB of RAM, a 600W PSU, and other components. I have a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, a WD 1TB HDD, and a Baracuda 6TB SSD. I bought a 16GB RX 6800 GPU with AMD Gaming Trio (it has three 8-pin PCIe slots), a RM850 motherboard, Corsair products, and plan to get an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. I’m seeking advice on whether these upgrades could help or if I should salvage parts for a retro gaming server or console. What are the best options?
