Your computer is halting unexpectedly.
Hello, welcome to the forums. Please forgive any confusion—I’ve been here a while and now I’m stuck on an issue I can’t locate a fix for. When I power off my PC and come back the next day, it functions normally until I start a game, then either freezes completely or restarts itself. After rebooting, it behaves the same way every time, except when I play games. It seems to happen only during editing documents, not while watching videos or working. Thank you for your assistance.
Check if you've already performed the initial diagnostics.
1. Have you executed "sfc /scannow" and "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" via Command Prompt with admin privileges?
2. Did you revert your BIOS settings back to the factory defaults, and possibly install the latest firmware from your motherboard's supplier?
3. Could you provide the technical specifications of your system?
4. What are the thermal readings on your PC?
It seems like you're dealing with a thermal concern. Please share your full PC specifications so I can assist further. Then, I recommend installing HWMonitor or HWInfo 64 and keeping an eye on CPU and GPU temperatures during idle and gaming sessions. If everything looks normal, check for outdated drivers, BIOS updates, graphics settings, chipset information, etc., and verify if the problems continue.
