Something unexpected happened with my PC. While browsing online, it restarted and now it won’t post. A black screen appears, and the motherboard diagnostics show a stuck CPU LED. My vision isn’t working properly—anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting steps? I’m not sure if the error lights are from the CPU itself.

What hardware capabilities are you using? Without details, I can only offer general estimates. Have you attempted to reset the CMOS chip?

Start by ensuring every cable is securely connected. It’s possible the power cable to the CPU is not properly attached.

Turn off all unnecessary devices like extra monitors, USB pens, printers, mouse, and speakers/headset. Restart using just one monitor and a connected keyboard. If that works, reintroduce items one by one until you identify the problematic device. If it still fails, open the unit carefully and remove internal components such as additional hard drives or your graphics card. Consider booting with a single RAM stick if available. This method helps narrow down the issue to specific hardware parts.

Thanks for the update. I'm running an MSI B550 board with a 5800X3D, RTX 4070, 32GB Corsair RAM, and an 850W Seasonic power supply. It's mounted directly on the CPU LED, and I'm ready to test the CPU in my son's setup. The convenience of sharing the same platform is great!

Yep also faced the same problem three years ago. About three months after purchasing my 2x16GB 3600 Corsair Vengeance RAM, one stick stopped working. Amazon handled the return process nicely, but I waited for the updated models before sending the old unit back. That was a good decision—one of the new sticks didn’t even show up! I mixed the remaining ones from each kit and returned the faulty ones. Later I noticed the two sticks weren’t from the same manufacturer; one was Hynix and the other Micron. Still, it worked out since Corsair RAM was discontinued.

Consider posting if your Corsair VENGEANCE hits 3000Mhz and drops to 3200Mhz, as this indicates a potential issue worth sharing.
