In the past days my computer has stopped working often during gaming sessions. It’s not just one game like B06, Fortnite or Marvel Rivals—it happens across several titles. I’m unsure if the problem is my settings, hardware or drivers. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: upgraded CPU (R7 7800X3D), updated GPU (4800 Super), restarted after a crash and ran MemTest, but no issues found. Still nothing works. Please give me some advice before buying anything.

The motherboard, RAM, and PSU are from a specific brand and model. The previous CPU and GPU are noted, and it was confirmed to perform a clean Windows installation after the upgrade.

Yes, there is a BIOS update available. Also, the temperature seems normal.

Seems like the issue could be linked to the motherboard's compatibility with Windows 11.

DDR4 isn't compatible with AM5. All AM5 motherboards use W11. This note was updated on December 9, 2024 by leclod

Wow, I didn't even realize I made that purchase. I'm really clueless.

You might need a different motherboard, or your cooler could be too low quality. Check if the BIOS version matches the new part. Let me know if you need more details!

You’re looking to upgrade the motherboard (yet). A better cooling setup is fine, and you might need a BIOS update. Both boards support a flashback function, so this shouldn’t cause issues. Updated on December 9, 2024 by leclod

I changed it today but haven't run tests yet. I'll let you know if I still face crashes. What do you call this cooler clearance?

A few models don't work well with certain RAM sticks, but that doesn't apply to your situation
