I tested Cinebench on my 7900X with various settings and compared it to the benchmark on nanoreview. It’s unclear if the results match expectations, so I’m wondering if: a) the CPU is faulty; b) there’s a hardware limitation affecting performance; or c) the 7900X actually outperforms the 7900 at 65W TDP.

I believe 7900X running at 65W needs undervolt adjustments and possibly clock caps to ensure every core receives power, since it wasn't built for such low TDP.

Thanks for the update. Running at 65W is feasible, and staying within the 30-day return period on the 7900X makes returning it seem reasonable.
