Hello, I've heard similar concerns before. My 5950X OC has been acting up lately—random crashes and WHEA errors under load. During a 23-core multithreaded session it often freezes, and even HandBrake encoding fails sometimes. I'm currently running a manual overclock at 4.5/1.2 allcore, which has performed well for months without problems. I prefer allcore overclock over PBO since it doesn't spike aggressively during idle. I've also tried different RAM kits, but MEMtest passed and the issue isn't memory. Increasing power seems to help, though temps in HandBrake are around 60°C. No signs of RAM degradation from heat or voltage issues. It's been stable for six months now, but suddenly it's not. Any insights? Thanks for the details.

Have you made any changes to the bios recently? Overclocking can cause cpu components to wear out.

Hardware tends to lose stability and may deteriorate with use. I've experienced this firsthand with my old CPU.

I understand that 1.2V with 60*Cs isn't a major overclock. I've been using the newest BIOS for a while now.

That looks like a very old Bios page. It mentions Evga and AGESA but doesn’t show any recent updates.

They shared the newest BIOS version, it worked fine without any rollbacks. This is the final BIOS release; EVGA's support ended, but that's not relevant here.

Others often use Dark boards with identical BIOS settings, and there are no problems with overclocking or overall stability. I’ve mentioned running the bulletproof stable for six months without any changes to hardware, OS, or BIOS.

Welp reached 1.23V following Prime and AIDA, with some CB runs, no crashes, though it feels odd since I previously tested 1.2V and it worked fine.
