Your 3090 is experiencing issues.
Details: CPU model i9 13900K, RAM 64GB DDR5 Trident at 6000Mhz (2x32GB), motherboard MSI MPG Z790 Edge, Wi-Fi GPU MSI RTX 3090, power supply BeQuiet 1200W, no extra overclocking except XMP. Message starts in urgent need. My 3090 has been behaving poorly recently; even after returning it to MSI for return, issues remain. I noticed the first glitch occurred during driver updates. Typically, monitors dim briefly when installing new drivers, but this time they stayed off permanently. Based on my RGB strips disconnecting, the system likely crashed. After a hard restart, drives appeared updated. A few days later I performed a major Windows 10 upgrade, which restarted repeatedly. Once off, it booted in a loop. This ruined my Windows install and led me to try a fresh Windows 11 setup. The same issues returned during driver installation, with crashes and boot loops. After disconnecting everything, connecting one monitor resolved the problem. I observed random game freezes, black screens on YouTube, and overall instability. I sent it back to MSI for repair. Today it arrived. Uncertain what they fixed, but they addressed the boot looping when all three monitors were linked. Still, after driver updates it crashed again. I removed drivers, plugged two monitors into the integrated GPU, unplugged the third, and reinstalled drivers. This time the system didn’t crash (RGB stayed), but all monitors remained dark. My mouse cursor moved on one display, and after pressing specific keys, the PC rebooted successfully. Previously, with my 1080 graphics card in the same slot, I experienced no crashes or visual issues. Today, when launching ARK Ascended, an error pops up about insufficient VRAM, causing the game to close. If ignored, the game runs. On a second launch it worked. I attempted to capture glitches but couldn’t find them. If I manage to record, I’ll share photos. I’m hoping this info helps someone troubleshoot. Thanks to all who helped me.
My computer just restarted unexpectedly—I don’t know if it was a Blue Screen since I was in VR. It appeared on the post screen right when I removed my headset. There don’t seem to be any thermal issues either, as it’s running at 75°C with underload on top. Updated: Here are some GPUZ screenshots I took early in a new VR session, around mid-session after it crashed again. Edited November 6, 2023 by SwissAngel
I think you might have missed some details. It’s important to remove everything unnecessary until the system is reliable. No 3 screens until trust is established. Don’t use dgpu when stability isn’t confirmed. And so on...wait for the right moment before overclocking. Edited November 6, 2023 by leclod
